How can you get involved?

Every chamber member is encouraged to participate within the organization. As a full member you can volunteer to help with events, serve on a committee, serve on the Board of Directors, or serve on the Executive Board.

Application process is as follows:
Complete your application and submit with payment.

Application is reviewed by the Executive Committee and notification of your application is sent to the membership

The application is submitted to the Board of Directors for approval, at the monthly Board of Director’s meeting.

After approval by Board of Directors, membership is granted and you will receive notification.

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETS:
The fourth Tuesday of each month

BOARD OF DIRECTOR’S MEET:
The second Tuesday of each month

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS:
May (Spring Social)
August (Nomination Meeting)
October (Installation Dinner)

What can the Chamber offer you?

Gives you the opportunity to advertise in the Cape May Visitor’s Guide with a circulation of 150,000.

Refers ONLY Chamber members to individuals who call and request information. (over 49,000 telephone calls in 2001)

Offers a FREE listing with business’s name, address & telephone number on the Chamber’s Website, with over 11,000 visitors per month.

Website Links available from the Chamber website, www.capemaychamber.com, to member’s home page for an annual fee of only $50

Transfers the guidebook request list and membership list onto labels for discounted rate to members. Provides you with the opportunity to insert your brochures into our weekly guidebook mailings.

Handles over 50,000 requests for Chamber Visitor’s Guides each year.The books are also distributed through information centers, trade shows and AAA offices.

Member’s brochure or flyer included in Guidebook request mailings- $75/per 500 pieces.

Guidebooks are sent via Bulk Mail & inserts cannot be larger than 6” x 9” .Your brochure / advertisement inserted into monthly Chamber Mailings- $50 (approx 350 pieces) Insertions are requested on floppy disc also as some members receive mailings via e-mail only.

Chamber Website Link- $50 annually. Accommodations Availability Listing- FREE. This is a 24 hr service, but the Chamber cannot advertise specials or packages. Your vacancies will listed on the Chamber’s voice mail recording, fax on demand requests and posted on the Chamber website. If you have already purchased a link to your web site from the membership listing, your business will also be linked from the Accommodation Availability Listing page on the Chamber web site.

What is the Chamber
of Commerce of
Greater Cape May?

A membership organization, 300+ businesses strong, the Chamber is made up of professionals like yourself who help promote civic and economic progress in the Greater Cape May area.

Founded in 1951, currently the Chamber is a blend of shops, accommodations, restaurants & service based businesses.

The Board of Directors consists of up to 27 members, including the 6 members of the Executive Board. Board members are selected by the membership.

The Chamber has several volunteer committees, all of which assist in the productive operations of the organization. The office staff, with the help of volunteers, also coordinate the chamber sponsored events and publications. Participation in committees is welcomed and encouraged.
